Supply Corps Reserve Officer Nominated for Promotion

Captain Alan J. Reyes Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced that Captain Alan J. Reyes has been nominated for promotion to the rank of Rear Admiral (Lower Half). Capt. Reyes is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff, Reserve Operations, NAVSUP Global Logistics Support, San Diego, California. Capt. Reyes, the son of a career Supply Corps Chief Warrant Officer, earned a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Capt. Reyes’ additional reserve assignments include: staff officer, Navy Reserve Naval Audit Service Headquarters; air cargo company commander and executive officer, Navy Cargo Handling Battalion TEN; commanding officer, Navy Cargo Handling Battalion EIGHT; staff officer, U.S. Special Operations Command J4; commanding officer, Navy Reserve Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Detachment 206; commanding officer, Navy Reserve Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Bahrain Headquarters; and commodore, 2nd Navy Expeditionary Logistic Regiment. He served afloat as supply officer, USS Birmingham (SSN 695). He also served as assistant officer community manager, Office of Supply Corps Personnel; and Flag Lieutenant/Aide to the Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command. Capt. Reyes also had several operational deployments including service as commanding officer, Navy Customs Battalion PAPA, in Kuwait and Iraq; operations/plans officer for Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Group Forward Headquarters; and logistics officer for commander, Task Force 56.
