On 26 March, Morehouse College, a historically black college located in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted its first Military Crown Forum organized by the Student Development Committee and Joint Service Group.
The Crown Forum is Morehouse College’s premier lecture series, supporting the mission to produce outstanding leaders by exposing students to speakers with social conscience and global perspectives. This assembly focused on the U.S. military’s role in addressing international challenges and events facing the nation, with a specific interest on how leadership, character, integrity and community service come to bear as the U.S. military deals with these issues.
Invited to this event was Morehouse College alumnus, Cmdr. Milton Troy, III, SC, USN.
“As a proud Morehouse man, I was humbled to return to the place where my naval career began and celebrate the many contributions of those past and present who serve in our nation’s military.”
The outreach events, coordinated through the Supply Community Diversity Program, not only provide publicity for the Navy but also enables students and influencers to become aware of the Supply Corps as a career choice, especially for those with a business education or business background.
