Capt. Alfons Carl Marczynski, SC, USN (Ret.)

    Capt. Alfons Carl Marczynski, SC, USN (Ret), 70, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away in May. He was a true patriot, a devoted husband, and loving parent. Capt. Marczynski was born in Germany and at the age of 13, he immigrated to Boston with his family from Poland.     He graduated from the University of Maine and received his Masters from the Naval Post Graduate School. Capt. Marczynski proudly served in the Navy for 30 years as a submariner and held many commands within the Supply Corps.     Capt. Marczynski retired in August 1998 with 30 years of active service after serving at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command Operation Support Field, San Diego, Calif. Duty stations also included: Defense Contract Management Command, Texas Instruments, Dallas, Texas; Defense Personnel Support Center, Philadelphia, Pa.; USS Fulton (AS 11); Naval Submarine Base, New London, Groton, Conn.; Defense Contract Administration Services Plant Representative Office, Westinghouse, Cleveland, Ohio; Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va.; Trident System Project Office, Washington, D.C.; Naval Audit Service Headquarters, Falls Church, Va.; Naval Supply Systems Command, Arlington, Va.; Naval Electronics Systems Command, Washington, D.C.; and USS Thomas Jefferson (SSBN 618).     Al is survived by his devoted wife, two daughters, and a sister.
