Cmdr. Paul Harnad

     Retired Supply Corps Cmdr. Paul Harnad, 78, died Nov. 26, 2013 at his residence in Staunton, Va.  He was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Marblehead, Ohio, and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1957.  He later obtained his Master's Degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.  He served as an active duty Supply Corps officer in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Commander.  Cmdr. Harnad continued his naval service as a civilian for 23 years, culminating a distinguished career as Director of Logistics for the Navy Engineering Logistics Office.      He was both an avid golfer and tennis player.  In addition to his wife, surviving family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, and 11 grandchildren.      A funeral service was held Dec. 1, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church, and Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
