The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Post Office on board Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania transitioned to its permanent location on March 7. It serves forward deployed customers in a remote isolated location with services that are equivalent to any other operation in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella area of responsibility. Jun Frianeza, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Sigonella, created a Microsoft Excel-based program that automatically validates cargo received from the air terminal using the Global Air Transportation Execution System manifest and Automated Manifest System, Tactical (AMS-TAC) tally reports (electronic copies). The program was created Dec. 14 in response to Logistic Support Center Djibouti’s request to help them speed up their manual validation process which takes four to six hours. The program completes the validation process in under a minute and will also provide reports listing the transportation control numbers under Matched, Missing, and Overshipment categories. The program is portable and can be utilized on other sites using AMS-TAC system. NAVSUP FLC Souda Bay will also use the program.–Photo by Shannon Haney May/June 2016
