Cmdr. Andrew Frahler

     Retired Navy Supply Corps officer, Cmdr. Andrew Frahler, passed away Nov. 28, 2012 in Atlanta, Ga.  A first generation American, he was born in Portland, Ore.  He was awarded a scholarship to Oregon State University, and after one year was drafted into the Army, but soon accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.  After graduating, he first served aboard USS Iowa (VV 61), and then returned to the U.S. Naval Academy where he served as a baseball coach and taught seamanship and navigation.  His last ship was USS Oklahoma City (CLG 5), where he served as Supply officer. Cmdr. Andrew Frahler      In April 2008, the U.S. Naval Academy honored him by naming the baseball team’s meeting room in Max Bishop Stadium after him.  His wife, son, daughter, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren survive him.
