Commander, NAVSUP Global Logistics Support (GLS) visited NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Pearl Harbor headquarters and several of its site locations during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise July 10-13.

Rear Adm. James McNeal received a first–hand glimpse of NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor’s logistics operations and cooperative relationships critical in delivering effective, sustained logistics within the biennial RIMPAC exercise.

During an all-hands call and awards ceremony, McNeal recognized individuals who went above and beyond their primary duties, garnering them Joint Warfighter and Employee of the Quarter awards. Following the ceremony, McNeal also held an open forum, answering questions and thanking supply officers, enlisted logisticians and civilian employees for their hard work and continuous support to the fleet.

“NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor plays an important, ongoing role serving the logistics needs of naval and joint warfighters throughout the Pacific Rim,” said McNeal. “During this year’s RIMPAC - the world’s largest international maritime exercise - the team superbly demonstrated the exercise theme of ‘Capable, Adaptive, Partners,’ by strengthening regional partnerships and increasing multinational interoperability through superior logistics coordination with the 26 participating nations.”
McNeal also visited with the Multinational Logistics Support Element (MLSE), a unique element to NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor, which includes an international, Reserve, and multiservice active-duty team.

“Our international counterparts and Reservists have fully integrated with the team and are leading the effort to provide operational support to all 45 U.S. and foreign ships participating in RIMPAC,” said Lt. Calvin White, NAVSUP FLC Pearl Harbor operational support officer.
The admiral’s itinerary also included meetings with Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific Fleet; Director for Logistics, Engineering and Security Cooperation, Headquarters, U.S. Pacific Command; Director, Logistics, Fleet Supply and Ordnance, U.S. Pacific Fleet; Director for Supply and Financial Management, Commander, Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet; Commander, Defense Logistics Agency Pacific; Commander, Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific; and Chief of Staff, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific.
