Retired Cmdr. Diana J. Wilson, SC, USN

56, passed away. Cmdr. Wilson retired with 30 years of active service while serving as Assistant Contracts Director at Naval Air Warfare Center, Orlando, Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree at Hawaii Pacific University, Honolulu, Hawaii, and her master’s degree at Troy State University, Troy, Alabama, with an additional masters at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Her previous duty stations included: Trident Refit Facility Kings Bay, Kings Bay, Georgia; Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia; USS Williamette (AO 180); Submarine Logistics Support Center Detachment, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and USS Frank Cable (AS 40). She was one of the very first women to serve on a U.S. Navy ship, USS Vulcan (AR 5), alongside men in 1978-79. January/February 2016
