In November 2014, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) held a Supply Corps Senior Leadership Symposium that brought together active and retired Supply Corps Flag Officers along with NAVSUP Senior Executive Service members to provide updates on the Navy Supply Community and obtain feedback from these leaders. The second phase of this event brought together active and Reserve Supply Corps Flag Officers, Captains and Captain Selects to provide community updates and solicit feedback through strengths-weakness-opportunity-threat (SWOT) small group sessions. An offshoot of the feedback received from these sessions was the establishment of the Supply Advisory Team (SAT) governance to facilitate exploration of SWOT areas and development of process enhancements and concepts designed to equip our supply community to address the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. The SAT consists of four groupings:
  • Manpower Readiness
  • Operational Logistics/Joint/Expeditionary
  • Financial Management/Integrated Logistics Support/Acquisition/Information Technology
  • Future Logistics Concepts
Additional SAT information is available on the NAVSUP web portal at https://www.navsup.navy.mil/navsup/sc/sat. This site provides:
  • SAT and Technical Integration Panel membership
  • SAT Governance Memo
  • SAT Mission statements
  • SAT Kickoff Presentations
  • Charters developed by each of the four SATs
As our SAT efforts continue, you will be able to find updates on this website. In the future, an idea and suggestion tab will be included so that you may propose ideas/suggestions that each of the SATs will be able to consider as they continue to execute their charters. Continued support of this effort remains integral to the successful development of the ideas that will revolutionize how the supply community operates. January/February 2016
