Robert Fabrizio

Robert Fabrizio died Aug. 24, 2012, in Lexington, Va.  He was born in Jersey City, N.J. on May 6, 1921, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., in June 1944, as a member of the Class of 1945.  He served for two years the Supply Officer aboard USS Graffias (AF 29), and three years as the disbursing officer at the New York Naval Shipyard.  After graduate school, he began his civilian career, which was interrupted when he was recalled to active duty and served as Assistant Supply Officer aboard USS Coral Sea (CV 43).   Upon his release from active duty, he was an industrial engineer with several companies.  In 1963, he joined Modine Manufacturing Company as a plant manager for a new plat being constructed in Buena Vista, Va.  In 1965, Fabrizio and his wife bought a Ford Mercury dealership, which the both operated until they retired in 1996.  A daughter, a son and three grandchildren survive him.  Memorial services were conducted Sept. 1, 2012, and he was inurned next to his wife at the Naval Academy Columbarium in Annapolis, Md.
