Capt. Lawrence Krukin, SC, USN, (Ret)

Retired Supply Corps Capt. Lawrence Krukin, 81, passed away Jan. 29.  Services were held on Jan. 31 at Beth Ami Congregation in Boca Raton, followed by Internment with full military honors at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Fla.  Capt. Krukin retired Sept. 1, 1980 after 26 years of active naval service.  His final tour was serving as Commanding Officer, Navy Regional Finance Center, Washington, D.C.  A native of Norfolk, Va., he was born June 12, 1931, and graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in June 1953 with a B.S. in Business Administration.  He began his active duty service when he entered Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and was commissioned an Ensign in the Supply Corps in February 1954.  He later earned his Master’s Degree in Management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., in June 1963.  His previous duty stations include USS Antares (AK258); USS Steinaker (DDR863); Staff, Commander Service Force, Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.; U.S. Naval Support Activity, Naples, Italy; Office of the Chief of Naval Material, Washington, D.C.; Supply Officer, USS Columbus (CG12); Navy Electronic Supply Office, Great Lakes, Ill.; Naval Supply Systems Command, Washington, D.C.; Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.; and Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, Va.
