
USS Ashland (LSD 48) and members of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit assisted with disaster relief efforts in Saipan following the wake of Typhoon Soudelor, Aug. 2. The crew provided emergency supplies including drinking water, bed sheets, food, generators, and electrical equipment to various distribution sites, shelters, and schools around the island. Well done to Lt. Dennis Pelina and his team for supporting this critical Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief mission!
