NEX Memphis Associate Named NEXCOM Enterprise Associate of the Year

Jessica Hall, Lead Sales Associate, infant and children’s departments, NEX Memphis, Tenn., has been named the Navy Exchange Service Command’s (NEXCOM) Enterprise Associate of the Year for 2013.

Hall’s departments have achieved sales growth in the three years she has been working at NEX Memphis. In fiscal year 2011, Hall’s first full year of employment, sales were flat in infants, girls and boys. In 2012, those departments were up 9.7 percent, 10.8 percent and 20.4 percent to plan respectively. In fiscal year 2013, the infants department was up another 2 percent over the previous year.

“Jessica was hired in 2010 and in a very short period of time, she began to distinguish herself as one of the hardest working, most dedicated and pleasant associates in our softlines department,” said Matthew Barnwell, General Manager, NEX Memphis. “She has a positive effect on all associates and customers of NEX Memphis. She cares deeply about the welfare and satisfaction of her fellow associates and continuously, without fail, gives PREMIER Customer Service to each customer she has the pleasure of serving.”

Since being hired, Hall has received numerous awards including three CASH awards, four Letters of Appreciation and one Superior Recognition and Accomplishment Award. She was named a NEX Memphis’ Associate of the Quarter in 2012 and NEX Memphis Associate of the Year in 2013. Hall also completed the Mid-South District’s “Build A Bench” program that identifies future leaders within the NEXCOM Enterprise.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, she was selected as NEX Memphis’ Civilian Workers Recreation Committee’s treasurer from 2011 – 2013. She is also the store’s lead associate for its annual Breast Cancer Awareness and Walk event as well as participated in coordinating multiple fashion shows, Black History Month celebrations, Breakfast with Santa events and the bi-annual Baby Days events.
