Maria Haynes, Regional Logistics Director at the Navy Exchange Service Command’s (NEXCOM) Northeast Distribution Center, Suffolk, Va., has been selected as one of the nation’s top five Latina Executives of the Year by LATINAStyle Magazine. As one of the awardees, Haynes demonstrates excellence in leadership, commitment to the community, impact on the command’s bottom line and creates an environment where associates are encouraged to always look for the next big opportunity.

“I am very honored, and at the same time, humbled to receive this great recognition,” said Haynes. “It is also an honor to work for a leader and an organization that embraces opportunities for a diverse work force.”

Now in its fifth consecutive year, the LATINAStyle Executive of the Year program honors influential Latinas selected by their peers, as true leaders and examples for the Hispanic community and for the professional women in the U.S.

“What a great honor it is for Maria to be named one of five Latina Executives of the Year,” said Robert J. Bianchi, Chief Executive Officer, NEXCOM. “Maria’s dedication and commitment to her co-workers and our military families is second to none. I can’t think of a more deserving person for this award!”

Haynes will receive her award on February 6, 2014, in Washington D.C., at the LATINAStyle Diversity Leaders Luncheon Ceremony.

At the same ceremony, NEXCOM will receive its second award as one of LATINAStyle Top 50 Companies in America for Latinas. According to LATINAStyle, the companies chosen as the “2013 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the United States” lead the way in providing retirement plans, programs to assist military personnel to readjust to the working field, training and leadership programs to place Latinas on a fast track to promotions and recognition, as well as Hispanic affinity groups to better understand the needs of its Latino employee population, particularly its Latinas.
